AlbertoAlessiAlberto Alessi

Born in Arona (Novara) in 1946, Alberto Alessi is President of Alessi Spa and head of Marketing Strategy, Communication and Design Management.

The eldest son of Carlo Alessi, he belongs to the third generation of the Alessi family, and officially joined the company in 1970, the day after he graduated in Law. He initially was in charge of the commercial area, the development of new products and the communication.

Since 1970 Alberto has started collaborating with architects and designers from all over the world further enhancing the company’s reputation of working with key names in the field of international design.

Alberto Alessi has written several books, including “La Cintura di Orione” (Longanesi, Milano 1987) “Not in Production next to Production”, (Alessi Spa, Crusinallo 1988) and “The Dream Factory”, (Electa, Milano 1998).

2011 he curated the fourth edition at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, entitled “The Dream Factories: people, ideas and paradoxes of Italian design factories”.

During his career he has contributed articles for many international magazines and publications and he is visiting professor at several design colleges.

Alongside his role as head of design management, Alberto Alessi is involved in the production of his own high-quality organic wines“La Signora Eugenia e il passero solitario”

Christian Duyckaerts (DOB: 1970) is FESPA’s Belgian Board Representative and President of the screen and digital workgroup of the Belgian trade association Febelgra.

He started his career in 1991 at Hamiscreen, at that time the biggest screen and offset printing company in the Benelux, learning his profession culminating different positions, from Production Director to Co-General Manager.

Later on he was the CEO of two of the largest POS and outdoor print production companies in Belgium: Print&Display and GSI printing.

Since 2012 Christian has been Managing Partner and Director of Retail Communicators, a company specialized in visual communication for retailers. 

His company delivers brand retail solutions from concept and print to installation for many international brands like Nissan, Mediamarkt and Uniqlo. Thanks to a global partner network they are able to meet the need for fast updating and enhancing of an international network of shops, showrooms and buildings. Offering all this through a single point of contact for a perfect service.

In 2014 Christian became Fespa’s Vice President, a role that he takes very seriously and which he executes with a lot of devotion.

Since 2016, Christian is also co-founder of Inside Retail, a brand new one-stop-shop for inspiration and hands-on information to help retailers reinvent and rebuild their business in the age of disruption.
Christian's personal interest lies in history and ethnographic and modern art.

simonSimon Harrop

A background in brand marketing management combined with a strong belief in the power of the sense of smell led Simon to form The Aroma Company in 1993. The Aroma Company provides strategic brand development and promotion through the sense of smell to brands as diverse as banks to shampoo manufacturers, supermarkets to cruise ships. The Aroma Company have become the leading innovators in this field.

By 2006 Simon was interested in the ways in which multiple senses could combine to make even more compelling branded experiences for customers and he launched Brand Sense with business partner Martin Lindstrom – who had just released the award winning book, Brand Sense. Their mission was to help carry the message of sensory marketing out to a wider audience.

Through this extensive experience Simon Harrop has become a global expert in multi-sensory brand marketing, specialising in knowledge transfer through coaching and consultancy.

In his role as a sensory expert, Simon has enjoyed extensive public profiling through media such as the BBC, NBC, International Herald Tribune, Brand Strategy and the Sunday Times. Simon is also a regular speaker, panel guest and contributor on the international marketing conference circuit. Simon has spoken at events such as Marketing Week Live, Retail Interiors, ‘Experience’ in New York, The World Perfumery Congress, TED, SEPAWA conference in Dusseldorf, The Consumer Products Association and The Israeli Presidents Conference.

Simon has created sensory strategies for brands such as British Airways, P&G, Harrods and General Motors. Sensory Branding is now used across the globe by companies such as Nestle, McDonalds, Unilever, and Glaxo Smith Kline.
The Aroma Company consists of a small team of highly experienced specialists. Although based in the UK, their work is truly global as they advise top international brand executives on how to use sensory marketing for real commercial advantage.

Gemma RibertiGemma Riberti

Gemma brings to Lifestyle & Interiors over 8 years of experience in the interiors and design research fields. Coming from Stylesight where she worked as the Interiors Editor, she now oversees the interior design and product development directions, with an eye to colour, design and print. A graduate of Milan's Politectico, she has previously worked with A+A Design Studio, Studio Contrepoint, NJAL and Fusion Cph.

MaherShakshirMaher Shakshir

Maher Shakshir is Head of Digital Printing at Steuler-Fliesen GmbH. He began his career there in 2007 as a screen printing intern, after completing an advanced technical college certificate in Stuttgart at Johannes-Gutenberg Technical School and graduating with a degree in Print and Media Technology. After only one year in the screen printing department at Steuler-Fliesen GmbH, he moved into process planning, tile decoration and then the production team, where he is now seen as an expert in his field and is responsible for all tile production and digital printing at Steuler-Fliesen GmbH.

Steuler-Fliesen GmbH is a company with excellent reputation and tradition. Ceramic products have been manufactured under the Steuler name, at the Mühlacker site, Germany since 1917 and has grown into one of the most innovative tile plants in the world.

JohnSulzmannJohn Sulzmann

John co-founded Artworks together with Seath back in 1997 after spotting the potential for growth in the graphics industry. He hasn't looked back since, overseeing Artworks' growth and continued diversification into new areas of business.

John's always keen to stay ahead, so he keeps a close eye on the new ideas, designs and equipment that can help us deliver even better solutions for their clients.

CholakarnVisutipitakulCholakarn Visutipitakul

Cholakarn Visutipitakul is Marketing and Creative Director of Bodhi Tree Decor - The Custom Made Wallpaper & Interior Fabric Design company based in Bangkok. She graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana Champagne, USA and has 13 year experience in the advertising industry. She has enjoyed a successful career leading advertising agencies such as McCann-Erickson, Lowe and Y&R.

In 2010, she decided to start a new journey in the home decoration sector, where she has no previous experience. She introduced new concept of “custom made wallpaper” under “Bodhi Tree Brand” which was a huge breakthrough from traditional wallpaper within the Asia region.

She received the ‘Best Design Product Award’ from Elle Décor in 2011 and was shortlisted ‘Best International Product Design Award’ London in 2012 as well as ‘Game Changer Award’ from HP Asia-Pacific in 2013. In 2014, she expanded the business into custom printed fabric for the interior decoration sector which ranges from retail shops, luxury residents to hotel and resorts.

TSVisualsThijs Sepers and Vincent Post, TS Visuals

For more than 10 years, TS Visuals from the Netherlands has specialized in large format printing and dye sublimation on hard substrates. A dedicated research department designs durable visual solutions on metal panels, glass, steel, wood and many other substrates. They make photographers, artists, interior designers and architects ideas come to life.

TS Visuals offers innovative decorative solutions for both indoor and outdoor applications like photo panels, interior decoration and durable exterior signage.

For the Fespa award winning ceiling of ‘Markthal Rotterdam’ TS Visuals used a special printing process on coated aluminium that is based on the sublimation process.

Viorel Bogdan

Viorel Bogdan started the journey in the graphics world back in 1996 as part of the production team in a screen print company. Once the digital revolution come in Romania in 1999, he expanded his knowledge by holding different positions in multinational companies: media manufacturer, media and hardware reseller, printer manufacturer. With assignments at local and regional level, he was exposed to very diverse business and process situations. Now, as part of Mactac, he is responsible for the Digital Printing Media portfolio at worldwide level.

BirgitSpielvogelBIRGIT SPIELVOGEL

Birgit Spielvogel, international designer and creative head of trend-trade, a German design studio for home textile and wall design, has been working within the interior product industry for the last 20 years.

Starting with design work for conventional prints in the early 90's, and experiencing the development of digital printing, she sees the high potential of digital printed products for home furnishing as well as for contract interiors in the market.

Growing up in a renown textile region in Germany, Birgit Spielvogel was able to get connected with the textile industry at a very early age. She attended the German Textile College Muenchberg /Hof where she gained her designer's diploma in 1994 and from there she started work for the North American operation of worldwide group Milliken & Company. After gaining international and professional experience in Asia and the U.S. she returned to Germany in 2001, and started out as a freelance designer with her own design studio two years later. In 2011 she included wall design into her portfolio. Looking at the possibilities of customised design, in 2015 she developed her new B2B offer "CI OFFICE DESIGN", a design service for business owners and their corporate identity (CI) interior.

With her creative skills and her market knowledge, she is able to visualize and transfer astonishing design ideas into an actual room and interior, by using innovative print technology. She designs for textile and non-textile surfaces, such as window decoration (draperies, screens), upholstery and other furniture and wallcover applications - including floor and ceiling products.

DEBBIE McKEEGAN

Born in England, designer Debbie Mckeegan developed an early love of print from her creative parents. Summer holidays spent watching them work instilled an appreciation of textiles and print, alongside a strong work ethic! “Still happiest in the factory absorbing the hum of production, the constant chatter of sewing machines and the smell of pigment and steam” – Debbie Mc.

An award winning designer of Textiles and Wallpaper. Debbie creates her own collections whilst also developing brands and design ranges for clients worldwide. Creating playful patterns which embrace the creative freedom offered by digital print and new technology. In 2004 with her partner Roger Wills, she founded Digetex which soon became a centre for Digital printing excellence in both the Fabric and Wallcovering fields. Shimrit is an industrial engineer and marketing professional with over 10 years’ experience in international marketing, the past five immersed in the world of digital ceramic printed glass. At Dip-Tech, Shimrit focuses on market education to build knowledge of anddemand for digital ceramic printed glass products and applications.
